I just removed the coin box and installed CPT9000 eject box (cradle) & BTUM on my 2/04 545i. the BTU flashes, so i assume that the istall went fine. At the end of the instructions it says the "TCU requires to be programmed via DIS Tester."
My SA told me that this should be a plug & play and that I shouldn't need any programming by the dealer, so I tried to pair my razr v3 just in case. The problem is that from idrive, when iI select Comunication/Phone, all I get is this message:
"For further information please contact your BMW center"
I guess I need to see the dealer to get the car to accept new eject box & BTUM. Is this what others have experienced?
thanks,

If the CPT9000 phone wasn't programmed before you installed the BTUM, I think you need to have it programmed. Keep in mind that with the BTUM, the car thinks an old-fashioned, hard-wired, CPT9000 is installed in the car. The BTUM emulates the hard-wired phone so even if you pair the BTUM to your RAZR, you won't see anything in iDrive until the dealer activates the CPT9000.
I know there are some members here who are using the BTUM, I think Lomag (one of the admins) has it working in his car...

Hey Rudy, you're a fantastic contributer to this forum and you are extremely generous with your time. Where do you access all of the internal BMW documentaion? And, are there any Shop Manuals for this car yet?
Thanks again!

The documentation is part of the BMWTIS system. You can usually buy TIS discs on eBay, etc. but be careful as to the disc dates (make sure that you have coverage up to or past the date of your car.) Also, you can subscribe to the online version at http://www.bmwtis.com
As far as I know, TIS is the shop manual. The nice thing is that it covers more than just the E60...
