Hi Hatton,

I have this problem with my 535D MY2005 and my iphone 1.1.4

I need my software updated to the latest version but I guess I'm better off waiting ;-)

Yes but how long do you wait???? The BMW software is V30 so all i suppose you can do is to keep and eye out and see what version BMW comes up with, but its little hassle, see if you can get a free download and see how you go
cheers

That Apple thread seems to suggest that if you get the car updated to V30 + the extra updates that the poster had gotten done then the iPhone works perfectly with 1.1.2. I might speak to my dealer tomorrow and see if I can get mine done with those extra fixes then if my 1.1.4 phone still does not work I'll roll back my iphone firmware to 1.1.2 and try it then

I'll keep you posted on my progress

The difficulty is is getting your dealer to apply the patch as mine near me say that it does not officially exist from BMW. Latest software should sort it so they say. I have read of three seperate cases of new software making no difference to the Iphone working on initial paring only problem. This whilst anecdotal evidence only, is enough to find a dealer who has knowledge of the Iphone patch as i believe this is critical, hopefully if somebody knows better they will speak up!!
Once again i do not think 1.1.4 is the issue at all. Good luck

Thanks Robbage,

I have a very good relationship with my local dealer so I'm hoping they will converse with the dealer in Bristol and get the information they need but hey who knows.

I'll keep ya posted

I spoke to Apple about going back to version1.1.2 (im on 1.1.4) and im afraid it is not possible, once New software updated it stays updated.........That was the way i was hoping to go. If however i have been given duff information by Apple and you can downgrade please let me know
Cheers

Hi everyone
Just joined the forum

I have an 06 535D M sport. I have a unlocked iphone with 1.1.4 firmware on it and the phone paired fine and calls were good but a reception could be so so. I have just bought the OEM iphone snap in adapter for the center console and it is crystal clear, all modes work on the idrive and voice control too. I bought the adapter from cotswold BMW via ebay

Hope this helps

Very Best
Graham

Welcome thunder! But do be careful, the issues folks are reporting are with a BMW software update on iPhones w/ 1.1.4. With your older car, you are not running ver 30.x that BMW is now installing, and is the source of the issues. Bottom line, don't rush over to your dealer for a software update anytime soon...

Well I did some serious testing yesterday after I was unable to roll back my firmware from 1.1.4 to 1.1.2 and I have the work around described earlier of removing and re adding the pairing every time I get in the car. This process makes the phone function perfectly and I have an older car firmware ( mines MY2005 ) so like has been said before the version of the firmware on the iPhones seems irrelevant.

Graham,

Do you know what software your car has ?
