I got mine thanks to my local dealer and it works perfectly on V3i.
The signal is now 5 bars almost everywhere but the strange is that cradle has not an antenna connection to V3i in the rear but it is connected only to mini USB interface.
Where is , if any, the antenna connection to the phone ?
I don't think that antenna wire is connected to mini USB.
Anyone knows this matter better than me ?

Are any other parts needed beside the snap in adapter? How hard is the install? Thans!

You also need the eject box and the telephone support. The snap in adapter is interchangeable so you can change only the one piece out if you get another phone. The install is simple but the process of getting the trim appart is a PITA. Should take 30-60 minutes if you do it yourself. Search the forum for directions and photos.

My car was equippped with BT option since beginning, then it was only necessary to remove the cover of the eject box and replace it with the cradle.
It was necessary to pair again the phone.

Confused! Ricky says no other parts needed and ImolaRed says yes. I have 6/05 build 545. Any other thought?

To simply pair with the car and make calls hands free, there is nothing else needed other than a BT phone and the BT enabled car itself. BUT, if you want to use the car antenna (and charge) then you need the three parts. The snap-in adapter is NOT needed to pair the phone with the car.

Just ordered v3 snap in adapter from e-bay.de. Does anyone have the part #'s and costs for whatever else I need for the install? I understand that there are 2 other parts to order.

84-21-6-946-075 Eject Box (list) $154.90
51-16-7-060-175 Telephone Support (list) $43.35

And the best place to get these is from Garry Romani at BMW of Newport http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=18067

In another post from someone with a 645i he also stated he needed:

Part Numbers needed to complete (not needed for functionality)
51 16 1 964 677 8-bolt ~ $ 00.34 (not installed yet on mine)
51 16 7 113 151 Base ~ $ 34.21 (not installed yet)
51 16 7 113 150 Cover ~ $ 8.16 (not installed yet)

For our 5 seriers do we need anything like this?
