I am on the waiting list for the snap in adapter for the V3c phone to replace my V710 one at BMW of SF. They said they are backordered and will be given out according to the wait list as they receive them from Germany. Has any US dealership received these yet or should I have a friend overseas just pick one up for me?

Forget about the waiting list and get it from www.ebay.de. I got mine from there for about $150 (express shipping, 3 days) from Germany to USA. Just go to ebay.de and do a search of "snap in adapter".

Thanks for the suggestion. I was able to find it on ebay. I just hope my German was good enough that I ordered it correctly!

I'm #255 on that list (as of a month ago). Call me cheap but I didn't want to pay for the $30 shipping from Germany. Plus I'm getting it for a good price from Garry at BMW of Newport.

Actually, even with the shipping charge, it is $25 less than BMW of San Francisco was charging (and I get it in 3 days).

Found out that the V3 snap in adapters are in country but they're on hold. Not sure what that means but I was told that it could be some thing as simple as waiting for the install instructions.

Rang local BMW dealer with the part number (84 21 0 415 023) - they said wasn't a stock item in the UK but they could order it in up to 3 weeks.
Got one from ebay (bmw_blechschmidt ) and it's the genuine BMW part delivered in 2 days from Germany.
Plugged straight in and works perfectly on a V3i.
Signal is now 5 bars almost permanently.

I also ordered mine from the German ebay site (ebay.de) under the BMW-Autohaus-Blechschmidt store. The cost was 74.90 euros for the cradle and 35 euros for express shipping. It took a total of five days from the ebay purchase to delivery in San Francisco. It worked perfectly and replaced my Motorola 710 cradle. I must admit that the ergonomics of the previous and simpler cradle were better, but I am happy to have the upgrade.

I got mine thanks to my local dealer and it works perfectly on V3i.
The signal is now 5 bars almost everywhere but the strange is that cradle has not an antenna connection to V3i in the rear but it is connected only to mini USB interface.
Where is , if any, the antenna connection to the phone ?
I don't think that antenna wire is connected to mini USB.
Anyone knows this matter better than me ?
