How about the E62? or 6682? I haven't had much luck with pairing Nokia phones with my car.

 

yeah, didn't work for my N73 either...

 

I've paired e51 with i-drive, however phone contacts didnt transfer.Any tips to rectify this would be appreciated.

Also has anybody fitted an adaptor for cradle for e51 to 2008 520d? BMW website only gives info for new cars and e51 is not listed.

 

Maybe u can try these steps.

1. Delete Pairing on both BMW and Nokia phone.
2. Go to Phone Settings / Sync ... and turn off all Sync items except Contacts.
3. Repair phone with BMW with 6 digits e.g. 000000

 

Thanks for advice but this didnt work for me.I then contacted Dealer and they advised that e51 is not contacts compatable with the car and that when the cradle adaptor is available in Jan 2010 it will assist in displaying the contacts on the screen.I live in hope........

 

I believe your dealer is pulling the wool over your eyes here, perhaps inadvertently (I'm being kind!) ? The Nokia E51 is an old model handset, released 2007, I doubt even BMW can be that tardy to build an adapter some 2years later on, but maybe? Also, the adapter has no influence over the transfer of the handsets contacts; it provides handset charging and an external aerial connection only; the contract transfer is controlled by the software in the handset and the cars system therefore to say it could be improve/solve the contact problem is not correct IMO.

Most Nokia?s to a greater or lesser extent suffer contract transfer issues with BMW cars ? if you check out BMW?s own information there is specific reference to Nokia handsets - I've posted this document before as it is helpful in BMW Bluetooth matters - check the references to Nokia contact transfer in the attached document, it may help......................
