PDA / handheld devices with Bluetooth do NOT work fully with BMW Bluetooth....

Blackberry 7100 will pair with BMW, but will NOT operate at all.

iPaq H6315 will pair with BMW, and will work for hands free use.... but will not download phonebook to car, and will not allow dialing from the car. You must make/answer calls on the ipaq. (So, for all intents and purposes.... the iPaq does NOT work with BMW)

BMW bluetooth is designed for use with cellular phone devices which have bluetooth. For some reason, PDA/handheld devices do not work. I can't explain it beyond that..... but it has been what I have concluded after several attempts with different devices.

I have an '05 545 and the Treo 650...Works excellent with the car...Make sure you install the patch from treocentral for DUN(dial up networking) on your treo so your contact list will transfer to the car from your treo... It works so well that, I can be talking on my phone outside the car, get in the car and start it up, and the call immediately switches to the car seamlessly without having to do anything...cool stuff...

Now if only I can get my wife's LG-PM325 to work with the car...
