I saw a rumor posted on the e90Post Forums that BMW would have a cradle for the Motorola RAZR V3 available in February or March 06 for the e90. Has anyone heard if BMW will have that part available for our beloved e60? If so, when? I would love to get a cradle for my cell phone so that I can use the shark fin antenna for improved reception. Any news about any software upgrades to improve the audio quality for the phone?

My e60 have 22,000 miles on it and it has been great so far. The only issue was creaky door seals that BMW replaced. I look forward to every chance that I get to drive it.

Doubt it

Ive been told the V3 has a very difficult to reach connection point ( mini USB on side of phone) and has no way to connect to a external antenna.

The inability of most modern phones to connect to a external antenna is apparently one of the reasons we are seeing so few cradles

I've never felt the need for a cradle. Just the opposite, actually, I find that BT liberates me from having to physically connect my phone to my car. My BT phone stays in my pocket while I drive, and it works great.

There will never be a cradle for the RAZR.

This is due to the design of the charger plug, being a USB on the side. There would be no way to slide the RAZR into a charging cradle due to the USB plug.

I just put mine in my pocket ;-). I have also found that it fits nicely in the area between the emergency brake and the center console.

You are right...in part.

I connected my V3 to 12 V power supply via usb side and to external antenna via back standard antenna connector covered by a little button of rubber.
I am in the process to realize a cradle manufactured by myself but there are some difficulties.

They could make a cradle that would have the usb conection upright, and then tilt and drop flat. <_<

Bluetooth is much better. I got a lot of WOWs when my friends saw me using BT in the car.

I promise you, we will never see a cradle. Just think about it..... is there a desktop cradle for the RAZR made by Motorola? No. Does anyone make a desktop cradle for the RAZR? No.

So why would there be a car cradle, if they can't make a desktop one?

Bottom line.... The RAZR is already ancient. I have had mine since Nov. 2004. It's product lifespan is pretty much over. Another few months, maybe a year.... and that's it. I'm getting a Moto Q as soon as possible.

So, at this point, a car cradle is too little, too late. By the time someone released it, and I got it installed... it's time for a new phone.
