For all those who have the K800i,

I used b/t to transfer my contact list from the SE P910i to the K800i. At the same time changed off my 2G Sim card to a 3G SIM card with all the contacts transferred by the service provider. Everything worked sort of well until I started to edit some of the contacts (Phone contacts and NOT the SIM contacts), deleting some old and adding some new contacts - then the phone started to act up with the BMW b/t. It started to pair/unpair every few seconds

I deleted the Phone contact list (only SIM contacts left) and the phone worked well again with the BMW b/t. Apparently, if one transfer the contacts from another phone and thereafter not edit it, it will work

Anyone else with similar experience?

That does sound bizarre; have you tried using a service like Mobical.net? You can keep a copy of your phonebook on their servers which can be synchronised very quickly when you change your phone. Your problems may come from some slight incompatibility between the P910i and the K800i phonebooks.

Yes, amid all the bizarre findings, I have found more answers after I started to peek into the file structure of the contact list; inference - file structure between P910i and K800i is definitely different although both uses .vcf version 2.1 and have a fixed tag like "REV:20060717TnnnnnnZ" in every record in the p910i whereas the K800i's revealed this "X-IRMC-LUID:000200000Fnn" in a serialised format. Syncing becomes problematic when records are added in the K800i as the record will be accorded a later serial no. and "forced" in between 2 serialised record, similarly, deleting a record disrupts the sequence.

You could actually save/restore the entire contact list (phonebook) onto the MS, so there isn't a need to use mobilcal.net

Restore does put the serialised tag back to order, but somehow the contact list cannot be fully sent to the BMW b/t idrive.

I will do more research and share my findings here. It is definitely a neat phone and I intend to make it work with the B<W b/t.
