Bluetooth Specification??

My Ride: 2006 550i, Sport, Alpine White, Biege Interior, Steptronic, NAV, HUD, Ventilated Seats, Active Cruise, Active Steering, Comfort Access, Logic7, Sirius
The reason I ask is because there are rumors flying again about a bluetooth ipod coming out soon. It seems to me that this would work better with bluetooth 2.0 since it is approximately 3 times faster than bluetooth 1.2 (1 Mbps vs 3 Mbps)
I suppose BMW would have to update their software to recognize a bluetooth ipod but we can always hope.
