I have a 04/04 build date and got mine working with a software update. They worked on it all day. Forgot the documentation I took to show them.

i think we can safely say if u have no TCU or Microphone our E60's are not wired for Bluetooth at all
Just by purcvhasing a mic and TCU we will notget it working - we are missing the wiring loom - cheaper to get a new car

You should just need the ULF, Mic, Bluetooth Antenna, and Software Reprogramming to get your Bluetooth working Bteljuice--provided that all the necessary wiring is there. You could always go with the Parrot module or the Dension module as well. Check with your local dealer to see what the car is prewired for. If it is prewired for BMW Assist, more than likely it will be easier to do a bluetooth upgrade.

thats the thing the cars are not prewired..
if we open the overhead mic area its just empty!!! no hidden cables tucked away..
Does BMW have a seperate SA number for the telephone wiring ?

It used to be that the TCU alone was around $2000US, but now they can be had for $400-600US. You can also save some money by doing the wiring yourself and buying the parts from someone other than a BMW dealership. I know that someone posted E60 wiring diagrams on here not long ago. It wouldn't be that hard doing the actual wiring, one just needs to know what wires go where. Another option would be to search for wrecked E60 cars in your area that have all the necessary parts that you need--in addition to the wiring--to get bluetooth working.

My Ride: BMW E60 520i
My car is from 05/2003.
My eq. list says:
"640 CAR TELEPHONE PREPARATION "
I have the mics and everything, but what else do I need?
Depending on what I need, is it possible to install this myself? (exept the coding at BMW)
