My Ride: 2008 550i Space Gray

hey everyone.....can anyone point me in the direction to find some help in helping a friend pair his motorola v600 with his 2006 750. i tried to help him as much as i could with the knowledge i have in my 5 series and my motorola....but the i-drive menuing is different....
so far we can get the phone to "pair" but it unpairs very quickly....it cuts in and out.....
ANY help is appreciated....

What are you going by when making the determination that it has unpaired? Does iDrive ask you to activate the phone?

If it is just cutting in and out, is this due to bad signal strength to the handset? I get this from time to time but it has nothing to do with the bluetooth pairing. What does the phone think? Do the light rings pulse blue during all of this to indicate the active pairing?

You are adding the car to the phone as a "handsfree" correct?
