My Ride: 2004 BMW 525i, 6 Speed Manual, Premium/Sport Pkg, Xenon Adaptive Light Control
Hi all! Recently picked up an '04 525i, early build and from looking around the net, mine does not have bluetooth installed. I checked out Bimmernav.com and they seem to have the solution to my problem. They recommend having it professionally installed and then have it coded at the dealer. I have a couple of questions I want to post on that;
1. Is there anyone in the DC Metro area that is has done this install that can share some experiences?
2. What are the quoted prices to have it coded at the dealer?
3. Should I install it myself and just have the dealer perform the software update or is it better to have them do both?
4. How long should I expect to be without the vehicle while this is done (read some horror stories from the past)?
The vehicle has extended warranty and maintenance, just want to make sure I don't end up voiding either. Many thanks for your assistance.

The build date ins 01/04, I checked the TCU and as posted and responded to earlier in another thread, it does not have BT installed. I was hoping I wouls be one of the lucky ones but no dice, so I went ahead and got the kit from Bimmernav.com.

Hi thomasz, I am not sure what you meant by your post, could you elaborate? Your response is a bit cryptic.

BT issue resolved, the TCU from Bimmernav was installed and the software updated, phone synched up and phonebook transferred. Steering wheel buttons work fine (haven't tested voice command yet), iDrive works as advertised. Thanks to everyone here for all the info!
