I see many posts about cradles improving sound quaity, but this is not logical to me. The reception of a digital phone, a bar here and there does not improve the sound quality of the handset. Since the cradle only improves reception, how and why would it improve the sound quality. My phone (an old CDMA RAZR) stays in my pocket all the time. If the battery is running low I just plug it into a a phone charger in the glove box. IMHO a cradle defeats the purpose and functionality of BT.

Per my previous post, A newer (gain) microphone and the latest Progman will solve the problems of echo, and hollow sound.

My '08 has the latest mic and software. The only problem I am experiencing is low volume, for the listener, when I speak.

Okay, so we now know to speak closer to the microphone......one question though, Where is the damn thing???? I have not looked too closely, but it isn't apparent at first glance exactly where the thing is. Somebody, let me know!

Somewhere I haver read that ambient noise can effect how your voice sounds on the other end. Seems like I had the roof port opened and someone complained. I closed it and it did improve.

Maybe a whacko theory but easy to try. Close all windows.

Also any entertainment on in the car may further exacerbate cause.

Mic is up near the mirror, to the left end of the overhead console.

Try pairing someone else's phone & see. If the problem goes away then it's your phone, if not, it may be the mic.
