For the Ipod, you are getting jacked. I paid $450 for the part and install at Neillo BMW in Sacramento. Should be 1.5 hours AT MOST to get it installed. The part retails for $299, you can get it from BMW of Newport for the e60 forums discount of 25% off, or if you don't want to wait, you get 15% off for being a BMW car club member (join it!).
This is exclusive of the software update, which is free from your dealer. Don't let them charge you for it.

Make sure your phone is set to "connect automatically" or list the car as a trusted source.

You only paid $450 for the install? I had mine installed at Niello yesterday and they charged me another $400 for labor. Did you haggle them down? Or did I just get ripped off? Well, I guess its obvious I got ripped off...

Darn it! I saw the title "Bluetooth Gone Wild" and I thought I was going to find girls in bikinis dancing on the screen I am still thinking about the ipod option. I think I am on the phone so much that I many never get to use it.
