I am finding that I will need the cradle or a phone charger in the car because the battery drains rather quickly with BT.

While waiting, there is a power outlet under the glove box. Just plug the car charger in there and pull it into the glove box. For longer drives, leave the phone charging in the glove box.

I just told them I'd heard that BT was now available for my car.? The work order said "inspect if Bluetooth software is available."? They checked it out and activated.

Their notes said "performed retrofit added bluetooth with SW 13.3. Activated and paired with customer's phone."

Simple as that.? They called 1/2 way through to get my phone and said "the tech's got 5 or 6 pages of instructions and he's all ready to go."? They needed me to drop off my phone to be able to pair it.?

No special words, they just need to call tech support if they aren't aware of it.? This was my dealer's first time and it was a no-brainer.

you are one lucky man . i'll give them a call again next week and probably have them call a few dealers in the mainland to help them solve the "mystery" .

I use East Bay BMW in Pleasanton.? They're the best.

Cool and thanks for the info regarding the cradle. I just had a bad experience at Concord so will give East Bay a try next time around.

Ask for Gene or Jim - both really goods guys.

I left Concord after about four consecutive bad experiences, and have never looked back. I hear they have a strange commission structure there that skews their service.
