My Ride: 525d LCI - xenon, tv function, grey dakota leather, titanium silver,244 radial spokes.
I have always wanted the bluetooth option in my LCI 525d but the dealer was charging 1200$ for the option, which I found too steep. Finally getting a good deal on it as I booked another E60 from them this week.
I use an iPhone 2g with the latest software v2.2.1 while my dad uses the Nokia 6500classic(Symbian 40 software)
Need to be sure that both these phones will sync perfectly with the bluetooth and iDrive phonebook.
Also how exactly does the phonebook work... Does it save all the contacts permanently on the iDrive or syncs each time you pair? I have about 300+ contacts on my phone while my dad has close to 1000. Does that mean every time either of us pair our phones the iDrive will combined both our contact lists into one?
I have a Nokia carkit in my other car and my iPhone has an echoing problem with that, I hope this doesn't happen with the BMW bluetooth system?
Any idea if Nokia E series phones sync properly too?

Check out the forum for E models - past experience suggests that anything with the Symbian system can be problematic - some here are using E63's............
To my knowledge phonebook storage is temporary. Each list will be separate as the phonebook is flushed when you disconnect I believe.

iPhone pairs perfectly, the phonebook takes about 5 mins to load my 300 odd numbers.
The 6500classic's phonebook does not load up at all. The phonebook has about 1000 names but none of them show up. I used a 0000 passkey as well as 000000 passkey but no sign of the phonebook.
Please help !
