I have a 05 545. My Treo 650 worked vwith limited success. It would not enter my address book but worked well. I just got a verizon i730 andit really does very limited connecting. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.

The basic thing with the Treo650 is that the Favorites will transfer but not the entire address book. I understand that and don't expect any more than that so it works fine for me.

I'm driving a 2006 530xi and using a Sony Ericsson P910i phone. I can use the IDrive to make calls and redials only. The phonebook from the phone will not download to the car system. Anyone has this problem? Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

i have the i730 and it works (as handsfree device) with the car. the address book doesn't sync up, but the car acts as the headset consistently. the key to getting the i730 to work with the bmw is to set up the password in the OBEX setting as well.

Do you mean under the pin under OBEX FTP -> OBEX Authentication. I used the same pin number there that I used to pair my i730 to my 545i but it still does the same thing. Calls will work handsfree for a few seconds then cut out. Did you do something different?

Thanks

Drew

yes, entering in the same PIN number in the OBEX authentication is what i did as well. i'm not sure why it's kicking you out. i have noticed that if you're battery's getting low, the BT usually "economizes" and kicks you out sometimes. I usually hook up the phone to car charger when i get in so that's alleviated the problem (with that possibility anyway). the pairing is extremely basic at best. if i didn't get this phone through work, i would've taken it back already and got something else.

i might think that relying on the motorola BT earpiece might be a better solution seeing how the phone cannot download contacts.
