Guys
My wife has the pro phone in her 04/2004 E61. After having the last software update it opened up a new box within the I Drive that said bluetooth. Within this it shows the BMW handset as something like BT0063.
Now I can get my Nokia 6310i to pair with the bluetooth handset but seem to struggle with it pairing with the car (basestation).
Now do I need to have the TCU? changed or does it sound like it has the bluetooth working as it should?
I may swap my wife's phone for a bluetooth phone if it will work, but won't bother if it won't. Can you also remove the pro phone and holder and have say a Nokia 6310i holder in it's place or are we stuck with the pro phone handset?
Thanks for the help.
Paul

If you have the phone pro, the real phone is in the car, and the handset is ONLY a HEADSET.
You can't pair your 6310 with the car phone, since you can't pair a phone with a phone.
Therefore we are stuck with the phone pro, or we need to de-install the phone pro with all its components and install BT then...
If you DO find a solution......... let me know.
I would really love to pair my 6310 with the car...

You need to go through the old posts and read my postings for 2005 Bluetooth compatibility. I have a list form BMW of "approved" phones.
It is NOT... REPEAT... NOT the "X5 Bluetooth phone list" you can find floating around. While it may work it some cars, that list is NOT the list released by BMW.
If you can't find the list I'm referring to, email me and I will send it to you.
For now I would stick with ONLY the list I've attached. Like it or not, I would rather trust something BMW has "tested"... 8-)
Cheers!

Thanks for the response.
Iceman, I managed to get my 6310i shown on the bluetooth list in the car if I deleted the handset and switched it off. But I could not then get the pro handset to show on the list!. So before I tested the 6310i I deleted it in an attempt to get the handset working again which I have done. I can no longer get the 6310i to pair again?
Is possible though because it worked for me!

I'm still kicking myself for not trying the 6310, I was panicking that I could not get the pro handset to work and deleted the 6310 in my haste. I'm going to have another go and test it this time!
I'll let you know but the car definitely showed my handset on the display so I was not seeing things!
Cheers Paul
