Is there a possible way to check if your car is bluetooth equipped but only needs to be activated?? Both mine and my brother's E60 doesn't have bluetooth. Mine is 09/04 525i and my brother's is 09/05 530. Dealer is trying to charge 2500 USD a piece for bluetooth.

If i'm not mistaken from the production dates that you have given for both cars you should only need a software upgrade for your Bluetooth to work!

My '04 production date is before yours and my SA says I only need a software upgrade. He checked using my VIN#. You should be able to do the same. I'm still waiting for the work to be done though. Should be soon and I'll post how it went.

First check if the overhead microphone comes with your vehicle, then using the secrete menu check for phone preparation status. If the mic exists and phone preparation is ready then all you need is to have the dealer activate the blue tooth, otherwise, you'll have to go for a phone retrofit.

All European spec cars have a docking station in the centre armrest if the car is fitted with Bluetooth. Is it different for US spec cars?

Mine is supposed to be ready with a software upgrade only, but does not have a docking station. It has the small storage unit instead.
