I am crossing over from 10 years driving Mercedes Benz and picking up my first ever BMW later this week...2005 530i
I keep reading about updates for the bluetooth system...is there anything I need to know when I take delivery this week?
Shouldn't the system be up to date when I get it?

I appreciate your help...

Your new car should be good to go. Just pair a compatible phone and enjoy.

Welcome aboard, tcmalibu. New BMW's are allways up to date, so you shouldn't have a problem!
Enjoy the ride!

Welcome tcmailbu. I am sure you will enjoy your new BMW. However, as with all new cars, especially just after you've switched brands, there will be many things which you'll not be familiar with. I am sure your previous rides, namely the merc, had their own perculiar problems. You will find that BMWs are also not too far off in that area. However, your dealer should be able to get you thru those teething problems and smiling in no time. Congrats.

Make sure you find it on the i-drive before you drive off. Mine was not on there for six months, then, when I purchased my phone, I had to take my car in for the activation or whatever.

Press down on the i-drive, go to communications, you should see BLUETOOTH. If not, tell the dealer to activated it immediately.
