My Ride: Ordered: 530D Touring Silver Gray (A08), Auburn Dakota Leather (LCRK), Maple Wood, Steptronic, Bluetooth, 116 style 17'', Railbars, Sport suspension, Sport stering wheel
Eventually I have paired a BB Pearl 8100 to my car. Pairing and connection is fine.
Many contacts of course have Home, Work, Mobile numbers stored under a single contact.
This is how my contacts appear in the screen NAME/ LOCATION /LAST NAME, which is absolutely not convenient......
1) Has anyone else experience the same behavior?
2) Does anyone know how to change to LAST NAME/ FIRST NAME?

I have a BB 7130e that I had paired to my 530i at one point. I'm not sure if you've tried this but there is an option in your Contacts app on the phone that allows you to sort by First name, last name or Company. You may want to delete the pairing from the car, re-sort the contacts and then see what happens. I'm not sure if that will help but it's worth a shot.

sparky12's advice is good. Go to the phonebook options and change the sort by to last name instead of first name. From there, you may not need to delete the pairing, just disconnect and reconnect it. It might take a while for the new book to show up and, of course, if it doesn't, then deleting the pairing and starting over won't hurt...

I will try anyhow to change this setting to see if something will happen.....

What did you do to accomplish that? Did you change the phonebook options to 'first name'? If so, it would be interesting to learn what happens now when you change it back to 'last name'...
If I switch back to Last Name on the BB then I get the bizarre configuration of my picture on the top of the post.
It seems that the i-Drive does not understand the meaning of the fields FirtsName/LastName/Company on the BB.
For the time being it is working and it is not a great problem. I do wonder if this is a pearl issue or a more general BB issue.
