For those who might not have done this yet/know about it - two things i was able to do:
- dial a number by dictating via the voice command.
- use BB phonebook to select and call a number (like you would normally call a number from your addressbook on BBerry) and as soon as the phone dials the number it transfers to the car

between these two methods I guess things aren't that bad...

but here's my queston: is there a way to manually enter phone numbers and names into the address-book and have the car store it (other than the TOP 8 list)?
I picked up my 525i last week and got my wifes E815 paired up perfectly after a few missed tries. However, I have a Nextel 7520 Blackberry which I have attempted to pair via the bluetooth. I have read the previous posts about making it pair automaticly which I will test today, but when I used the hands free, I got an ecco feedback from both the Blackberry mic and the car mic picking up my voice.

Anyone got any ideas on this one

Upgrade the software on the 7520 to 4.0. It fixes the echo problem...

BTW, what a fantastic site

Thanks PabloR,

But I am already running 4.0. There is a Blackberry forum that I sometimes look through, maybe i'll drop them a line and see.

If anyone is interested, today I upgraded my Blackberry 7100v (Vodafone UK) with the latest 4.1 handheld software from Hong Kong CSL

Downloaded it from here (select the link for 7100g) :-

https://www.blackberry.com/SoftwareDownload...lient=cB5RB4aRB

Installed it to the pc, then deleted the vendor.xlm file (search for it on your hard disk).

It upgraded my 7100v to v4.1.0.210 and now I can exchange my phonebook with Idrive in my 5 Series. Works a treat

Has anyone tried the bluetooth in a new E60 with a Blackberry 7100?
I have a BB 7130e (version4.10.189) and the address book works perfectly with my 550 (09/05). My entire database of 700 contacts pops up every time no problem.

Thanks for that, however for the 7290 the only available downloads on that website are in Chinese for V4.1, so i guess that would be no good.

As i don't use the Blackberry that often, i'm not that bothered if i can't run the address through my i-Drive phonebook.

Can anyone answer the cellular phone handest question in my first post??

Thanks for the info Jason! I found the 4.1 and successfully downloaded to my 7100t. (cool icons + other enhancements)

Now, I've scheduled an appointment with my dealer to activate Bluetooth in my e60 for the first time. I'm running 17.1 in my car...does anyone know if I need an updated version to synch/download via bluetooth the complete address book of my 4.1 7100t? Any others items to take into consideration? Thanks...

I have a Blackberry 7100 with an '06 (Nov build) 530i.

I can not store phone numbers but the BT technology works really good.

The only problem I have is that when I am on one call and get another call coming in (normally I have call waiting/option to ignore or accept incoming call), it drops the call I am on and connects me to the incoming call.

I turned call waiting off on my phone so that if I get a call while I am on another call, now it runs straight to voicemail.

So I wish it worked better but it is still nice to be able to use the voice commands to dial even if I can't use the address book.
