will this allow me to connect my music from the phone with iDrive?
On the iDrive you set the stereo on aux, then you control all the music from your phone once it's connected to the BT reciever. Phone calls are made using a separate Bluetooth profile so music will stop playing automatically when you get a phone call.

I have a 2007 BMW 530i and all I have is one aux plug in the back of my center console and 1 power plug under my stereo. How would someone with zero knowledge with audio, soldering etc do this to their car? I live in the Las Vegas area.

I was thinking about getting the blackberry music gateway, but you have to plug it into the aux cable and also plug it into a cigarette lighter so it would have cords everywhere. :/

I just purchased this

So far it works great. Sound quality is just as good! Worth a try for $30

That is only a viable solution for those who have the aux/USB ports in the center console. For myself and others that only have the aux port in the rear of the center console, the BT board hardwire is the best option.

I recieved the unit shortly after ur post... tested in our lab here at savant here's the deal

The unit functions: Call connect/disconnect pause/paly skip F skip R has a built in mic.
Unit mount: comes with magnetic mount small same size as unit,
also 2sided 3m tape and 2 visor clips...
also a multi amp 3 port USB adapter for the lighter..
I was impressed with the quality for (free)

now for the pros/cons

Pro/CON- it uses the AUX cable ONLY for audio output...
so the result is you loose skip F/R on the wheel.... and the data from the unit..which i dont use any way my phone sits in front of most of the display from the drivers seat.

the USB is only to power the unit... so you could... hardwire it in... which is most likely what I'll Do...

I think that this is viable for those with the Aux/USB port in the rear. I have a similar setup, although with a Belkin unit. It works quite well. It may not be better, but it's viable when you don't want to dig into the wiring etc.

I have no clue where to connect the wires on the board so bear with me please.
I'm ok doing soldering work but no clue with electronic board.
I will appreciate if some one will guide me step by step to do it..
I can't see what wires to solder from ..
My car bmw 530d 2008 with the aux input behind the front chairs and no USB port.
Car has BT but works only to do and receive phone calls..no streaming music via BT.

You need to tap into the wiring for one of the cigarette lighters. 12v goes to the spot marked VCC on the board and your ground wire goes to GND. It also looks like you have a barrel connector on the board. You could use that to supply power as well but you'd still have to tap into the existing 12v and ground wires.

If you don't want to tap into the wires and you aren't using both cigarette lighters, you could disconnect the wires from one of them, clip/strip the ends, and solder those on.

The only limitation with this location is that the cigarette lighters are not powered unless the engine is running - they do not work when just the ignition is on. This is a slight annoyance because you can't be sitting in the car listening with the car off - the engine has to be idling for this to work. You'd have to tap into 12v wiring that is hot with just the ingnition on to get past this limitation.
