My Ride: 07' 550i sport; Sapphire Black/Auburn; sport package; steptronic; navigation with R.T.T.I.; heads up; cold weather package; Logic-7; BMW MOST ipod kit; Motorola V3 snap-in adapter; rear heated seats and rear shades; anthracite headliner; sirrius sat. radio; M-aero kit; OEM style 166 Wheels with 245/35-19 front and 285/30-19 rear Michelin PS2s.
I am hoping that the iphone will be compatible with BMW Bluetooth. You would think so with the apple-bmw collaboration over the ipod kits.
I have a snap in cradle now for my Razr and I really like having it (the signal boost is siginificant and the quick charging eliminates the need to plug in the phone at home). The Razr works great with the car (except that the black Razr has a known software issue that prohibits the use of call waiting when paired to the car - otherwise its fully functional). I will get a new Razr - since they're practically disposable - if the iphone isn't fully compatible.
Good luck,
DRP

I would consider the RIM BlackBerry Pearl. It is now one of my favorite phones.
I will post a link to my tests (tested 25 phones with CCC-equipped BMWs) some time next week with great detail.

Mine is the Sony Ericsson K750i. All functions are working, but blue tooth works like shit when talking handsfree.

I agree with the BlackBerry recommendation. The Pearl is perfect if you don't need or want a full QWERTY keyboard and the 8800 is perfect if you do.
It seems as if all current BlackBerrys work perfectly with the E60 -- as long as you don't create any "caller groups"...

My Ride: 2006 530i Sport
Silver Gray - Black Leather - Anthracite Maple
Manual Transmission
Premium Audio
Cold Weather Package
Rear sunshade
Sirius Radio
Autobahnd Roadblock (3M) film kit
Mot Q - hands down.
Nearly unanimously considered to contain the most complete and well-coded Bluetooth stack in the industry.
My Q is really 100% of what I need it to be (and has been for a year).
-Awesome phone, Verizon's awesome network
-EV-DO data (400+ Kbps)
-Live television (300+ Kbps 30fps via Slingbox)
-IM, Gtalk, etc...
-Google Maps
-NES emulator for playing classic Nintendo games
-Good media player capabilities (cheap storage, stereo BT, etc...)
-USB and Bluetooth tethering (I even tether my TomTom to the phone via BT for live traffic and weather for routing)
-SecureClient Mobile for firewall policy and data encryption for corp email, etc...
