Will the snap-in adapter automatically enable/dissable cell's phone BT upon insertion/removal from snap-in adapter?

My BT phone works fine without the snap-in adapter (MY 07 530i). The only issue is that I have is, to enable/dissable BT connectivity on my cell phone each time I drive or park car. Else the battery on the cell phone will discharge after several hours searching for BT connectivity.

No, unfortunately the bluetooth function of a phone in the snap-in adapter will not be activated automatically.
Either you activate Bluetooth when putting the phone in or keep it active all the time, draining the battery.
That?s the reason I ?m now using two phones with a twincard.

Sounds very interesting. Is having a twincard a common option with most cellular carriers? Do you just simply turn off the phone that you are not using?

Don?t know about the US, but here in Germany a twincard is a no-cost option at least with T-mobile.
It gives You two SIM cards with the same phone number, incoming calls always going to the last phone used. You can leave both phones switched on.

Having a snap-in adapter should negate the battery problem, since if you use the phone in the car every day, for commuting say, then you should find it constantly charged at least 3/4's - I only very rarely need to charge my phone at home these days, and keep my BT on constantly. Charging the phone via the car is noticeably much faster than via the mains charger for me.

some people say that the reception is better with the snap-in adapter than without - i myself have seen it at times in a garage, where i would after finished parking, remove the phone from the adapter and talk normally over the phone, the phone would lose connection. my phone is a 6230i...
