550i: Bluetooth issues (cellphone)
#1
I have a BMW approved Motorola cell phone that works well with the Bluetooth wireless network integrated into the sound system of my 550i...most of the time.
The biggest headache I have with this system (over the past year) is that sometimes the person I call cannot hear me, even though I can hear them perfectly. I have tried to fix this problem by disconnecting the Bluetooth connection with the phone using iDrive (unchecking the box), and then rechecking the box--which resets the connection between the phone and the car. Sometimes I will turn the phone off and turn it back on, and sometimes I'll just call back. Each of these approaches has not necessarily fixed the problem--and sometimes it does!
I don't know whether this is simply a random problem that I just have to deal with from time to time or if there is indeed a permanent solution.
Is anybody else having this problem? What do you do about it?

Also go into the setting menu of the phone and update the software, does it over the cell network and takes a couple of minutes. May or may not be the issue but it is a quick fix if it is.
