I have an '07 550 and my 3G iPhone and contacts pairs up fine with only one exception. If a contact has multiple phone types (i.e., mobile, home, etc.) it will only display the first entry.

I will try tonight when I get home, I have yet to up grade my v1.4 G1 , but my wife has upgraded her v1 to 2.0.
Both phones still work perfectly fine in the 2.5 year old Audi a4 with BT, Tech pack, and Nav... Kind of retarded that they would stop working with a newer bmw systems....

HI.
The phonebook sync I can see all my contacts on the screen, and i dont use any cables, only the built in bluetooth option
I will install the charge cable soon, but i will connect it to the 12V outlet.

It works great on my '04 530I without any problems! But then again I have not performed a CIP upgrade for the past 16 months

Ok I checked both of my v1 I phones, one with and the other with out the 2.0 software. They both work fine. All the contacts and such all transferred over just fine. Funny thing is the 2.0 software synced up in 1/4 the time as the 1.4x took.
My car is newer so that may be the key, the build was like late Jan/Feb of 08...

Software 2.0.1 is out and available in iTunes. Anyone update with meaningful changes? My 2G iPhone works fine with 2.0 so I have not upgraded, just curious if there any real modifications. All iTunes says is it fixes "bugs" without identifyng said bugs...

Our 535d was in for a service Monday and they updated the iDrive software to the latest version (I like it, new menus and sharper SatNav display with better colours).
I've just tried my 3g iPhone (2.01) and it's no better. Constant connect/re-connect, no address book and although will answer a call or dial out if you use the phone to connect/answer it mostly doesn't if you use the wheel button.
Annoying.
My 2g iPhone synced flawlessly and brought up the address book, but wouldn't do anything else!
