My Ride: 2004 BMW 325xi with a 30 pin iPod/iPhone cable hard wired into the stereo. Device will be an iPhone 6s.
bluetooth
If you have 30 pin cable in the glovebox WMA1000 will work. I have a viseeo product from viseeousa.com and it will switch between mic and music via Bluetooth. So you can have a phone call in your car through your car microphone..

My Ride: 550i E60 Alpine White
I use this one and it works well for music since I already have bluetooth phone connection: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GHUHMUS/
On music sometimes I have a high pitch whine but not so bad that I wouldn't use it.

I have been talking both with Viseeo (who makes the Tune2Air) and other companies making similar devices.
Unfortunately, none really do what I was looking for, which essentially would be a device you plug into your 30-pin connector in the car, and then your phone is available trhough the stereo. Both control, sound, and track information. None of the companies I talked to seems to really be interested in fixing it either.
The Tune2Air comes closest, in that it do provide the functionality, but only if you have an Apple device. For non-Apple devices, it has some limited functionality only. But worse is that the Tune2Air seems buggy, and at least for me only works about 1 time out of three.

I would like to have wireless artist, playlist, song info available wirelessly and would replace my phone if I need to.
