Did you guys pay $300 when you picked up your new baby with Bluetooth activation? I am about to pick up my 545-SMG next week and talking details with my SA. He asks to pay $300 BT activation fee. It is a bit strange for me because BT ready is a original spec for all MY05 E60s. Why they ask us to pay additional money for what is already in the spec? It should be part of predelivery inspection (PDI), I feel, right? Did you pay for it?

You're dealer is full of it. People with early 2005 have had it retorfitted from BMW for free. There should be no charge.

Walk away! tell him you want your money back and you will buy the car from another dealer who will not try and rip you off. Tell him you are so angry that you don't care about the 6 week wait. You know he has memos about BT being standard on MY 05 cars, he knows it to. Ask to speak to the GM.

I would call BMWNA and ask them whether the charge is proper. They may tell you that it is up to the dealer, but they might tell the dealer that the charge is inappropriate.

So that we can all boycott them (my dad lives in the area and will probably buy a BMW soon).

I would file a complaint with BMWNA and California BBB. This is extortion!

It might likely be illegal too.....

Tell your dealer he is full of it..... Seriously. Don't even ask questions about WHY there is a charge.

There is no BT activation fee. That is horseshit. I paid no such charge for my 2005 545 in Nov.

Tell him there is no fee, and you know it.... and that you're not interested in playing their stupid games.... and he can shove it. I can't stand the crap car dealers try to pull.
