My Ride: 2004 530i - Titanium Grey/Grey/SMG/Nav/sports pack/premium pack/sirius prep
Hi forum, it has been a long time since I posted. I bought a new 530 back in 2004. At that time the E60 still had lots of bugs and this forum was THE place in the world to work out bluetooth (and many other) issues. The information shared here by generous posters allowed me to go to my dealer and teach them how to get my phone working.
Anyway, my trusty old Razr has worked great with the car for these years but it needs replacing so I need information again:
Thanks,
-Nick

- Is there anywhere to get a list of compatible phones?
- Is Verizon still the exclusive carrier?
- Does the dealer have to do the original sync as was the case back then?
Thanks,
-Nick

I have a Sprint V3 and an iPhone and both work great with my 2008. Most Blackberry's seem to work as well.

Welcome back Nick...
If you have BT working currently, you should have no problems re-pairing a new phone (without the dealer's help.)
As far as I know, Verizon was never exclusive from a Bluetooth standpoint (they may have been exclusive with regard to the embedded phone that BMW uses for BMW Assist and/or service requests) but no matter, today, BT phones from any carrier will work.
I don't recall anyone complaining about the way Blackberrys work with the car but there are many others that work well too. What I'd do if I were you is narrow down your choices to a few and then search (or post) here to see what experiences others have had with those particular models...

Thanks for the good info. I got a Blackberry Pearl today. It paired with the car right away and everything works perfectly.
