I have an Orange E650 phone. From time to time when I start the car the i-drive goes to the Communications interface (without any intervention from me) and displays ***** Connecting (5 asterisks and the word Connecting). I can go back to the i-drive menu but the car insists that it is connecting to a non-existent number. When the engine is turned off, the i-drive remains active for several minutes instead of switching off within a few seconds.

I've tried rebooting the i-drive and sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't.

The dealer claims never to have heard of it. Anybody experienced this and (more importantly) cured it?
