Maybe it is just me, but I don't understand why people would buy the B7 over the 760? But doesnt the B7 have around 507hp whereas the 760's engine outputs 544hp. And further still the possible M7 that could put out more than the Merc's 612hp. Sorry other than hp I dont know any spec differences.

Well, the premise is that if you want a PERFORMANCE car, your NOT going to want the extra 6 inches that the extended versions of these cars adds on (it hurts both the weight as well as the handling characteristics). The reason Alpina initially used the Superchargers was to get similar power to the 760's engine WITHOUT the performance drawbacks of the 760Li platform. The 12-cylinder engine also weighs more so even it it was put in a car with the shorter chassis, the handling still would not be as good as the B7. I th
