2G E65 7 Series & E92 3 Series Coupe

My Ride: BMW E60 530i
I personally think the current E92 3 Series Coupe's rear lights look VERY similar to the 2G E65 7 Series' rear lights! What do you guys think?

I just decided to mention it for 2 reasons -
(1) There are lot of Audi fan boys who think the current 3 Series Coupe rear was "copied" by the Audi A3 and thus conclude that BMW is now following Audi designs, which I disagree due to the above;
(2) The E65 7 Series was criticised by many including BMW customers because they were ugly etc and called it the 'bangle butt' etc etc but tweak it a bit and put it on a 3 Series Coupe, everybody all of a sudden likes the 3 Coupe!
In conclusion, I think the 2G E65 7 Series was beautiful!
