Just wanted to give a quick plug for Powerwheels Pro. After a lot (and I mean a lot) of research and questions to the various vendors, I purchased their 18" M6 replicas. My understanding is that they make the wheels themselves so they're relatively inexpensive. I was concerned that being inexpensive, the wheels would be cheap. They're not. I'm very happy with their quality. And I've already had several compliments.

As I mentioned, I did a lot of research and I ended up asking them a lot of questions. They patiently answered them all. I highly recommend them.

I usually have two sets of tires/wheels: one set for spring, summer, fall; the other for winter. I've run winter tires before and they're so soft (and expensive), they don't last me longer than a season, and I've decided to go with Potenza A/S.

LOL. Should have them up this afternoon. I'm not happy about the wheel gap and I'm going to have to lower it.

I went for 18s because I've found smaller tires work better in the snow; wider, larger tires feel like they're trying to climb on top of the snow. I had oversize tires on my '06 GTO and it was squirrelly. I don't plan on driving the 6 in the snow much (at all) but my office is 45 miles away and you never know when it's going to snow here.

A few things I've noticed about the non-run flats and the smaller, lighter wheel/tire combination on the 6 is that the car's steering feels quicker, it doesn't track hard across road imperfections and the car is much quieter.

I'm sure the wider 19s allow the car to corner harder and I definitely prefer the look of the larger wheels. Still, I'm happy with the new wheels.

Winter wheels. 20s are bad in the snow. They're on for five months then the chrome 19s come back on... If I stick with the 19s.

Is the snow really that bad in Colorado during the winter?

No. But my work is 40 miles away in the foothills (around 5500 ft. above sea level), which doesn't see a lot of snow but when it does snow, it can be bad.

I don't plan on going into the office on those days (I work from home most of the time) but you can never tell with Colorado weather when snow will hit. If you've ever been through a slick six inch flurry during rush hour, you know that summer tires/wheels are just flat out scary. Last year I had an '06 GTO with all seasons and it wasn't pleasant. If I had been on summer stock, I would've been in a ditch (or worse). With what I paid for the 6, I never plan on being in the snow; but if I get caught, I'd rather have good, smaller tires and less expensive rims (in case they get curbed).
