Is the snow really that bad in Colorado during the winter?
Depends where in Colorado. I went to college at the University of Colorado at Boulder. I experienced many, many snow storms back then. Many of which were pretty crazy and hairy. When it comes to driving in Colorado during the snow storms, especially at elevation, forget about it. Summit County, I-70, Berthoud Pass, heading to A-Basin, and dropping down after the Eisenhower Tunnel during some of those storms was crazy. It really doesn't matter what type of car you are in. I've been in a few accidents with friends and even had a friend flip their truck in Berthoud Pass, heading to Winter Park. That road is deadly during a snow storm.

Just returned from a whirlwind tour from Denver to San Diego, Huntington Beach, LA and back. San Diego, Huntington and LA were in the 70s to the upper 80s (yesterday in LA) and Denver was... 25 degrees!

Time to move! Anyone want a set of barely used 18s (j/k)?

Just wanted to give a quick plug for Powerwheels Pro. After a lot (and I mean a lot) of research and questions to the various vendors, I purchased their 18" M6 replicas. My understanding is that they make the wheels themselves so they're relatively inexpensive. I was concerned that being inexpensive, the wheels would be cheap. They're not. I'm very happy with their quality. And I've already had several compliments.

As I mentioned, I did a lot of research and I ended up asking them a lot of questions. They patiently answered them all. I highly recommend them.

I usually have two sets of tires/wheels: one set for spring, summer, fall; the other for winter. I've run winter tires before and they're so soft (and expensive), they don't last me longer than a season, and I've decided to go with Potenza A/S.

I'll post pictures this weekend.
i put a plug on the forum today for Powerwheels pro and i made reference to you. i found your link after the fact. I bought a set based on your description , thanks im really happy so far.

Cool, thanks. I'm really happy with the wheels - not bad for my winter set.

Folks over at Powerwheels Pro are great to work with. I'll probably get my wife some new wheels early next year for her 325xi. I'll definitely be buying from them again.
