to the guys with smg 645 650 m6 m5...what do you park car in? r,n,d,ds....? if you leave the car in n and lock the doors dose your n indicator ''on indicator on 650/45,on shiffter on m car'' input from both car type owners needed thanks. mike

I park in N and put the parking brake on. I pisses me off when I go to start the car and it's in drive preventing the car from starting.

what's the proper way?
when parked uphill in forward gear
when parked downhill in reverse
right? can't remember... it's been so long since i've driven a non-auto car
what you want to accomplish is using a low gear and not letting the car move by utilizing the engine compression friction to prevent the car from rolling.
