Hi Folks, Put a post on a week or so ago with regards to pro sat nav not working. Managed to find a company that can take the unit in and repair it. Seems there can be a few things that go wrong with the drive but the most common is the laser.
A company called Maple Audio, www.mapleaudio.co.uk. will be able to fix these units.
For a laser they charge about ?200.
I am sure all you folks in the uk would prefer to spend this than what bmw are quoting.

Im sure the internals are no different to a ?25 DVD player from DABS for example, its tracing exactly WHICH generic internals the drive uses which is the key, I have problems the same but I think mine is disc related rather than drive as my old disc works perfect afaik last time.
