Oh and to swap wheels you also have to hack out the centre spoke foam part to allow the buttons module to fit in. (not fun)
I'll have a go now, don't mind screwing up the replacement but I was worried I might need to mod the column or somethink silly and possibly end up with a car minus a steering wheel.
Looks like I'll have to find some $$$ for Schulrogs kit now.

Agreed! Making the steering wheel module fit is probably the worst mod I've done since if you dig too deep you'll go right through and that would pretty much ruin the steering wheel lol I used a dremel myself with a small bit at first to grind the general contour and then a bigger one to smooth it all out and make it fit. Take it nice and easy one step at a time and you should b fine.
Correct alpinaandy, you do need to switch out the coilspring otherwise all you did is put on a steering wheel with no way to re-route the signals.
networklabs - let me know when you're ready and i'll have one set up for you. if you want the illuminated +/- paddles then there's obviously only one way they will work. if you get the push/pull ones, i can have those set up for you any way you want

I read that if I don't have a heated wheel (I don't) then I can use the connections for this? is that right?
I work with a lot of BMW stuff and have already built the harness, (sorry schulrog!) so not phased by fine soldering on the OE coil etc.
networklabs, if this is true and I can mod my coil I will take the wheel off right now to have a play, so pics are no prob.
Schulrog, can you sell me just a set of pull paddles?

You're correct I took the wheel of yesterday, I dont have pins for Heated wheel, the whole RH plug is empty.
so I will need a coil and paddles? could you tell me what this will cost, shipped to UK?
so Networklabs, here's the pics, sorry fella, I forgot to show the foam cut out bit.
