With the new valvetronic inline 6 engine line up... will there be a 4 liter version 6 series?

as in the 7 series line up of 730i; 740i; 750i; 760i but the 5 series is getting 523i; 525i; 530i; 550i

So for the 6:
630i; 645i --------> 630i; 640i; 650i??

cheers

The 6er is more exclusive that the sedans so I'm not so sure they would try to fill any percieved gap between their highest 6 cyl and what ever V8 will be in the MY2006 or MY2007. They do not bring the 630 to the US, and I have not seen any sales figures on it in the ROW (Rest of World) where it is available. Hard to base a real informed opinion without such info. I think the the 4.0 and 4.8 would be just too close together for a "sporty" car. I think BMW would want to stay with one and at the top, considering of course that the M6 is the real TOP

...there will be one...im trying to verify when the 640i will be released, but the bigger question, ofcourse, will be if BMW NA brings it to our shores

... i think that there is definitely a market for it, especially with the announced release of the new Cayman S, which is going to have ~298hp and cost $59K, so a ~306bhp 640i starting ~ $60K would compete perfectly, and bring up the low level of sales the 6er is currently generating...

...in NYC, i still dont see the need for the now 4.8 that the E63 will have in Sept, but if I cant get the 5er the way I want it, , im going for a 6, and i would prefer the 4.0... more waiting...
