The Perfect M: the E39 M5
If there’s one BMW M car that has stood the test of time, it’s the E39 M5. It’s the epitome of M, the standard that all M cars should live up to. From its perfectly-tuned, dynamic chassis, to the aural pleasure the is the V8 residing in the engine bay, the E39 M5 is the M5 to have, to love, to cherish, and to keep for all eternity. There’s nothing that anyone can say that could put a damper on the E39 M5.
The video below proves that point. It starts with some quick shots of the beautiful silver BMW and then cuts to the car ripping a burnout along an empty stretch of road. Then we get to hear that brilliant V8 rumble through a Eisenmann Exhaust. Pure aural bliss.
The video finally ends with the BMW E39 M5 ripping through the German countryside as the driver blasts down the infamous Autobahn. The car hits its max at over 280 kilometers per hour, which roughly translates to 174 miles per hour. Not bad for a 20-year-old car. Like I said above, it’s the M car every other car should aspire to.
