#TBT: MotorWeek Retro Reviews BMW 525i Touring
For some, including myself, the wagon represents the ultimate car. It provides space, great looking lines, and the propensity for being turned into an absolutely maniacal machine with some very light modifications. An automaker that helped refine that simple idea was, of course, BMW. Through the years, the Bavarian stalwart has developed a number of breathtaking wagons, with the E60 M5 Estate sitting right at the top of that list. However, it wouldn’t have been if BMW hadn’t built this beautiful 1993 525i Touring.
Over the past year or so, MotorWeek has been digging into their archives and finding old reviews of cool cars. Their latest zeroes in on the BMW 525i Touring. Besides the hilarious archival footage and stupendous soundtrack, MotorWeek describes the BMW 525i Touring as “the Ultimate Shopping Machine” and the “performance sedan with a really big trunk.”
I’m inclined to agree. But what do you all think about wagons? Are they the answer to all our prayers, or is every auto journalist, again including myself, barking up the wrong tree?
