Mike Musto Takes E30 BMW Off-Roadin In the Desert, Falls in Love

What do you get when you take an E30 BMW, Mike Musto, a set of off-road tires, and a homemade skid plate? BMW Magic.

Slow car fast is great and all, but slow car fast on gravel? Well, that’s a recipe for the most fun you can have on a budget. The video we’re bringing you today is from /DRIVE and takes Musto (of /Big Muscle fame) and plops him into an E30 BMW. Oh, and then he takes it off-roading.

Mike’s E30 was cheap, costing just $2,000. It has over 250,000 miles on it. It was a mechanical nightmare. And what they had in store for the little BMW would surely kill the car. Or so they thought.

The video is actually meant to showcase BF Goodrich’s brand new set of off-road tires, however, it develops into a story that finds Musto figuring out that the E30 BMW was a heck of a car. At least when you throw on a set of BFGs and take it into the Nevada desert.
