BMW’s Performance Driving School at Virginia International Raceway Is a Great Course for Folks With Previous Track Experience

In the MotorWeek episode above, the legendary automotive program takes a trip to VIR to learn driving from legendary driver, Brian Redman. The new BMW driving course at the historic venue allows folks with previous track experience to get a better handle on BMW’s performance machines on the circuit. Running in M2s, M3s, and M4s, the Legends at VIR two-day driving course sounds like a grand time. Pro racing drivers generally make phenomenal teachers when it comes to driving ability.

During the course of this two-day event, Motorweek‘s Zach Maskell also got the opportunity to ride along in Brian Redman’s Sebring-winning CSL. Based on the footage, it appears they also were giving ride-alongs in the former American Le Mans BMW E92 GT2 competitor.

So technically then, there were legends on hand in the form of racers and race cars. But we’d gladly pay the cost of entry just to have an opportunity to chat with Redman for a few hours, even if we didn’t learn anything about driving. That guy has got stories inside that he just can’t help but let out.

If you’re a BMW motorsport aficionado, and you want to get some more on-track experience in the best that Munich has to offer, perhaps you should get yourself signed up for this wonderful event, post haste. Learn from the best in some of the best sporting sedans and coupes out there. Judging from the video above, this sure sounds like a great way to spend two days.
