BMW M5 V10 Gets Stuffed into a (Z3) M Coupe

What would you do if there was some way to stuff a whale’s heart and lungs into your chest cavity? I’d probably become a superhero and take residence in an underwater cave in Fiji.

What would you do if you had a BMW M Coupe powered by an S85 V10 from the E60 BMW M5? I think I would use that as my official superhero car, you know, once I recovered from the surgery.

This V10 Z3 M Coupe may not be as badass as the Batmobile, but it comes pretty close, and pretty much matches the madness of that Lotus Exige with the S85 shoved behind the seats. I think it’s safe to say this big-balled M Coupe is cooler than most of the cars James Bond has ever driven.

If you’re thinking the S85 swap ruins the M Coupe’s weight balance, you may want to think again. If the weights listed below are accurate, the S85 weighs only 58 pounds more than the original S54 3.2-liter inline-six.

Check out the video of the car accelerating to 211 mph as easily as it is for you to sneeze, and then peruse the mega gallery that takes you through its build process.
