I wouldn't class myself as old, I'm only 30, but yesterday in Sainsburys car park I left my F11's engine running for about an hour, locked while I went for coffee with some colleagues.... It is really easy to do....
Be warned....
I do wonder what the insurance company would say, some little scum bag walks by thinks I want a BMW for a few hours, window gets put through off he goes, goes round a corner bag into a tree writes off 1 week old f11. Insurance say sorry you effectively left the keys in the ignition were not paying.... I don't think some how either BMW UK or your dealer is going to dig deep and pay.......

Just out of curiosity: how far where you and the key fob away? And arent't there any 'smart' routines incorporated within the comfort access, i.e. certain time expired with the driver being out of the car etc. etc.?

I feel like leaving my engine running for an hour would be a crime all on its own. That's just asking to replace an idler pulley every 6 months...Yeah I've wondered about that new keyless technology, I kind of like just having a regular key, it doesn't have eccentricities like the new comfort access. I've seen the new comfort access keys work from like 50 feet away. who needs their car to unlock whenever they get within 50ft of their car??
