Default MHD app for N54

I somehow just stumbled upon this and am intrigued. To be honest it sounds amazing. Can someone with experience (preferably stand alone, not stacked with jb4) give some input on the overall experience? It's obviously the cheapest method and seems quite easy, but is power improved much? I'm about to buy for my stock E60 and possibly E82 if it's as good as it looks.

It seems to be a great option. One question; I know that the piggyback systems offer code deletions. Is there an option with this to turn off the post cat oxygen sensors if catless downpipes are installed? I live in an area where I must pass an annual inspection so if the is a check engine light the car will not pass.

I'm not too sure what the laws are in Texas regarding emissions. I cannot imagine they are too stringent since it seems they just let any mom and pop gas station administer the testing. If it is like most states, you are allowed to have on or two sensors in a non-ready state. This non-ready status is what will be seen on a car that has a piggyback with code clearing turned on, a Cobb tune with the O2 sensor disabled or the MHD flash tune with the O2 sensor disabled. In some states a major emissions monitoring component in a non-ready status is an automatic fail. If you are in one of these states then your only option is to reinstall stock convertors for emissions testing and disable the tune or run an O2 simulator. None of the tuning solutions on the market for BMW will force readiness and show a "PASS." as far as I'm aware.

Thank you for the reply. After a quick search I see that Texas allows one "not ready". Will the downpipes affect the oxygen sensor status as well or just the catalytic converter?

Just a quick question for someone using MHD: is the flasher module tied to the VIN as well, or just the maps? I've got a 535i and a 135i to tune, will this require 2 purchases for the module, or 1 plus any related maps?

I have been running my car with the MHD stage 1 map, 93 octane, for a month and I love it! It does have the option to read trouble codes and delete them...as well as resetting adaptations, love it!

In Chicago we also have to do emissions test, I would think that it shouldn't be an issue to pass them with the stage 1 map on, but if you don't want to take any chances you can remap your ECU to stock conditions, it takes 2 minutes. I will be attempting to pass emissions in March or April 2016 with the stage 1 map.

Another feedback, I removed my Procede for MHD Flasher and it feels more responsive earlier in the RPM range than Procede.

Added bonus, when I'm not punching the gas I get 2-3 MPG than the stock engine. The only performance mods I have are MHD, DCI, AFE throttle body spacer and air scoop, if you can call the last one a "performance mod".

I am running stage 1 IC 93 octane map. I have catless downpipes installed. Great map, super smooth, ton of power at least 100hp over stock.

How come on my stock 2010 535ix Stage 1+ feels more powerful than Stage 2? Both uploads are for 93 octane. Any thoughts?

I think what you are seeing is the MAP bringing on power in lower RPMS or Higher RPMS.

Higher RPM power requires more modifications for air flow, cooling, etc.
