My Ride: 530 E60
Default Make my 530 -04 look good.

Hi.
I wonder how easy and cheap I can make my E60 look great...

I want to keep it look as stock as possible, but still just refine it a bit.

I have a stock e60 530-04. With M5 E60 rims. (or maybe a style that looks almost the same)

I've seen stock E60 with those tires, and it seems that the car looks "too high"..

What I'm thinking about is to just apply lowering springs, and buy wider tires.

Don't know what you meassure springs in in USA, but in Europe (and Sweden which I'm in), its in millimeters. (1inch =25,4mm)

My tires now are 245/40R18... And I'm thinking to instead of buying spacers to build out my rims 20mm I buy 20mm wider tyres. (maybe 265/35R18)

And about the height problem, I just buy lowerings springs that lower the cars 40mm or something.

Do you guys think it is gonna look ok?

I am not interested in buying sport-coilover-bilstein-koni-superspecial racing kits... that I can do on a race-car...

Sorry for my bad english. I'm from Sweden...

40mm lowering for your E60 would look nice, but maybe a bit much for Sweden what with all the snow you guys get. You might want to consider using OEM springs from an E60 that came with the sports package (if that was offered in Sweden). It will lower the car about 15-18mm. You can usually find them used from someone that put aftermarket springs on the car. If ride height isn't a huge concern it's hard to go wrong with Eibach pro-kit springs and Bilstein or Koni sport shocks.

good luck with the car.

My last 330-01 had 40mm and it worked good in winter-times...

although.. A simple road kit might not be a problem...but I don't need the sportiness that follows.. if I start modifying this car, it's gonna end up with modifying the whole car, which spoils the purpose..

I rather build a race-car of a e30 or e28..

Maybe I should look into Eibach kits...

Since you are from Sweden, I think it is mandatory that you get an E30, swap an S38 into it, and turbocharge it to 800bhp. I'm pretty sure this is Swedish law.

mandatory... ohh, I guess i have to... on the other hand. Those parts are expensive nowadays here.

A 325e30 (with Mtech2) starts around 4500$
A s38B38 starts around 3000$
A Z3M rear axle around 2000$

And then the rest...

On the other hand... E36 with S62B50 is kind of cheaper nowadays..

...........................

back to E60 .... Should I buy 255/40R18 or 265/35R18

Here's a good site that will help you compare tire sizes while maintaining proper diameter:
