Manufactured from high quality T-304 stainless steel and offering exceptional performance and sound, the RPI GTS exhaust for the E60 M5 is about 30% quieter than its prior GT version with resonators in section 1. 100% made in the USA and tested on a dyno dynamics, you can expect a 10-17whp gain and a weight saving of about 60 lbs compared to the stock system. **** For the non-Ms, we have not forgotten about you. A single side exhaust is specific for each model. Your stock exhaust will need to be cut after proper measurements are taken, and the RPI axle-back exhaust clamps right on utilizing the OEM hangers and points for easy installation. A rough estimate of 7-10 whp gain can be expected, dyno proven as well.

I posted this on the M5 board but haven't received a reply yet...

I'm confused....Can you clarify all the options and the differences between them?

I thought the options were:

1) GT section 1 (just straight pipes) Loudest option *

2) GTS Section 1 with resonators - more quiet option *

*Both option 1 & 2 have the same section 2 & section 3

what is the ST option?

sorry there wasnt any post on our thread. but GT is no longer in production. The ST version has the same section 2 and 3 as well, with high flow cats in section 1 instead of being straight pipes (GT) or having resonators (GTS).

Thanks for the info. I will be in the market here soon...just need to do my research on which one fits my needs.

Just to clarify, can you comment on the difference between the high flow cats (ST) and the resonated (GTS). Pros/Con's of each, which one is louder, which one flows better, etc.

the setup with high flow cats should be louder. for reference, the cats on the ST system are 200 cell.

GTS exhausts for the M5 available with still limited number of ST section 1s as well =)

Price for axle back quads only? Also, what is the tip diameter and the "outer tip to outer tip" dimension? Custom application. Thanks!

sorry there is no quad exhaust setup for the non-M made by RPI. if you are looking to put on the M5 rear section, a significant amount of room must be made for it underneath on the passenger side.

it can be a DIY. no welding required at all, the stock exhaust would just need to be cut near the axle and the RPI exhausts clamps on.

I got my RPi GT exhaust for my 550 from your shop a few years back and one of the things I never asked (and would like to know) is what is the best option as far as the piping itself from exhaust manifold, to the resonators and exhaust? I'm not even sure what the stock size is but am just curious if any modification to the piping itself would result in better bottom end performance? Thx!

it hasnt been tested with any modification to the piping in front of the exhaust. some have chosen to remove the resonator as a custom job and replaced it with just piping for only a more deeper sound.

Man I wish these were available for 535xi. :(

535i application is available, for an XI model I was told that a pipe would need to be bent but it would be a simple job for any muffler shop.

Do the Non M versions come with different hangers? I picked one up from Bosscat on here and it sits way too low and super crooked on my car.

doesnt come with new hangers, the exhausts are made to use the OEM hangers
