Is the long tube like dial item on the left an extension for the dampening adjustment for the rears? I've seen something like that offered for other coilovers and wondered if that was an option with these, or if possibly this item might work with the cks coilovers...or is this even needed because access in the back is not an issue?

"The CKS coilovers and SWIFT springs were everything you promised. The car now feels very nimble. I was really complaining a LOT when I first picked it up as it felt it was very "heavy" in the front with the stock suspension, even in "sport" mode. I have a 2008 Dinan 550i that I feel very comfortable throwing into corners but with the M5, well until now, not so much. However, now I am slinging this bad boy into tight turns and flying around curves. COMPLETELY different feel to the car. And as I said, it is a "sporty" NOT "bumpy" ride with the SWIFT springs-exactly as you described. Uh, and value....price for these things ROCKS. Can't imagine why I would spend more for the others we were talking about at first. (could be first time EVER that I saved cash on a mod and was thrilled with the end result). interested to know more about the SWIFT springs option with the CKS coilovers...
can you provide spring rates for the SWIFT springs to compare with the springs that come standard with the CKS? |
...and if possible, can you provide a little explanation re: the advantages / disadvantages of linear rate springs (like these and most other aftermarket springs) versus OEM variable rate springs?
And if any members with knowledge want to chime in, that would be great. that would help alot of us make a more informed decision when it comes to suspension choices. |
I'm also curious about the spring rates. Are different Swift springs used depending on the model of e60? M5's being heavier on the front than say a 530i... :think:
