I like the LCI LED rod DIY LCI tail light retrofit (cheaper method) Verison II-images.jpg but hate the original LCI design about brake light on.DIY LCI tail light retrofit (cheaper method) Verison II-images1.jpg

Follow the folk from Version I suggestion about the turn signal strobing
https://5series.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=83675

Compile the partial about the turn signal (reduce strobing) from the schematic for pre-facelift e60 from MJA
https://5series.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=86144

And change the brake light to LED rod and Fog light (by two diode) together. (circuit broad attach to cable)

Turn off the light and press the brake. RESULT - Third brake light; LED rod and FOG light on at the same time.

Turn on the light. RESULT - LED rod and FOG light on (but in 3.6V instead of 12V)

It's not 3.6V, it's a chopped 12V, meaning that you have approximately 1/4 th of the cycle (which is about 12-13 ms in total) 12V and 3/4 cycle 0V. There's a (huge) difference.
